Okay, let me be honest : I’m not a big fan of how protein powder tastes so I’m constantly finding out ways to camouflage it’s taste. Different flavored protein smoothies is the best way to go about it but if you want a change in the texture, smoothie bowls really hit the spot.
Strawberries are in season now and I’ve made sure that I’ve bulk froze as many berries as I possibly could. It’s perfect for adding them to your favourite drinks.
This protein smoothie bowl is my current favourite obsession. You’ll see me eating this everyday as my post workout meal. I make mine high calorie and high protein but you can alter the recipe to fit your calorie goals.
Ingredients : (easy swaps)
–Frozen Strawberries : You can substitute them with any of your other fav berries or maybe do a mixed berry bowl
–Frozen bananas : to get the consistency of a smoothie bowl, the bananas are a key. I wouldn’t really recommend swapping them out since its harder to get a thicker consistency without them
–Greek yoghurt: This adds the extra protein and creamy texture to the bowl. But you can swap it with regular yoghurt or dairy free yoghurt.
–Toppings : I usually stick with granola, chopped bananas/strawberries & chia seeds. But you can also add cocoa nibs, nut butters etc to add more elements to the bowl
