Sandwiches are the easiest way to get in as many nutrients in as possible. I love bread. Yes, as a nutritionist, I’m a huge fan of bread because guess what? Bread can be really nutritious if you select the one with better ingredients. If I had to pick just one bread for the rest of my life it would definitely be sourdough!
The best part about making your own sandwiches is the you can control the sauces used and the flavor of the protein that you add.
Homemade Subway Sandwich
A quick juicy sandwich filled with nutritious ingredients

Cook Time 20 minutes mins
Ingredients
- 100 g Chicken breast boiled and shredded
- 1 whole Subway bread multigrain / whole wheat/ sourdough/ any bread
- 1/2 no. Cucumbers finely sliced
- 3-4 leaves Lettuce
- 4-5 slices Tomato finely sliced
- 2 tbsp Onions finely sliced
- 1 tsp Coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp Green chutney
- 1 tsp Garlic mayo
- 1 tbsp Red pepper sauce
- 1 tbsp Olives
- 1 slice Cheese slice
Instructions
- In a pot with salt and boiling water, boil your chicken breast for 10mins or until cook. Once cooled down, shred the chicken.--.-.--
- Add red pepper sauce, salt, pepper and chilli flakes to the shredded chicken and mix well.
- Cut the bread and add mayo on one side and green chutney on the other
- Add lettuce, cucumber, tomato, shredded chicken, onions and coriander leaves
- Add in the olives and cheese slice
- Grill on a pan until the cheese has melted.
- P.s : you can add a little bit of ketchup if needed
